Latentium Labs ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") operates the VadhuMilan mobile application (the "App") and the website vadhumilan.com (the "Website"), collectively referred to as the "Service." This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you use our Service.
By creating an account or using VadhuMilan, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not access or use the Service.
1. Definitions
- Personal Data means any information that relates to an identified or identifiable individual, including but not limited to name, email address, photographs, and demographic details.
- Sensitive Personal Data means Personal Data that reveals racial or ethnic origin, religious or philosophical beliefs, caste, or data concerning a person's sex life or sexual orientation.
- Data Controller / Data Fiduciary means Latentium Labs, the entity that determines the purposes and means of processing your Personal Data.
- Data Processor means any third party that processes Personal Data on our behalf.
- User / Data Principal means any individual who creates an account on or uses the Service.
2. Eligibility
VadhuMilan is intended solely for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect Personal Data from anyone under the age of 18. If we learn that we have collected Personal Data from a person under 18, we will delete that information promptly. If you believe a minor has provided us with Personal Data, please contact us at contact@latentium.com.
3. Information We Collect
3.1 Information You Provide Directly
When you register for and use VadhuMilan, you voluntarily provide us with the following categories of information:

When you use the Service, we may automatically collect the following:

3.3 Information We Do NOT Collect
We want to be transparent about what we do not collect:
- Precise or approximate location data — we do not access GPS, Wi-Fi, or cell tower location
- Contacts or address book — we do not read or upload your phone contacts
- Health data — we do not collect any health or medical information
- Call logs, SMS, or calendar data
- Background audio, camera, or microphone access (except when you explicitly take or select a photo for your profile)
4. Legal Bases for Processing
We process your Personal Data under the following legal bases, as applicable under the laws of your jurisdiction:

4.1 Sensitive Personal Data
Certain information you provide — including religion, caste, and marital status — is classified as Sensitive Personal Data under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA), and similar laws. This information is essential to the core matchmaking function of a matrimonial platform. We process this data solely on the basis of your explicit consent, which you grant when you submit your profile. You may withdraw this consent at any time by deleting your profile or contacting us.
5. How We Use Your Information
We use your Personal Data for the following purposes:
- Providing the Service — Creating and displaying your profile, facilitating matches, and enabling communication between matched users.
- Matchmaking — Using your profile details and preferences to suggest compatible profiles.
- Authentication and Security — Verifying your identity, maintaining account security, preventing fraud, and detecting unauthorized access.
- Communication — Sending you service-related notifications (e.g., new matches, messages, account updates). We do not send marketing emails without your separate opt-in consent.
- Service Improvement — Analyzing aggregate, anonymized usage patterns to improve features, fix bugs, and enhance user experience.
- Safety and Compliance — Enforcing our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines, investigating reports of misconduct, and complying with legal obligations.
- Customer Support — Responding to your inquiries, troubleshooting issues, and providing technical assistance.
We do not use your Personal Data for:
- Selling or renting to third parties
- Automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal effects
- Targeted advertising based on Sensitive Personal Data
- Any purpose incompatible with those described above
6. How We Share Your Information
6.1 With Other Users
Your profile information (name, age, photographs, religion, caste, education, occupation, height, marital status, city) is visible to other registered users of the Service as part of the matchmaking experience. Chat messages are only visible to you and your matched user.
6.2 With Service Providers
We share Personal Data with the following categories of third-party service providers who process data on our behalf:

All service providers are contractually required to process your data only as instructed by us and to maintain appropriate security measures.
6.3 For Legal Reasons
We may disclose your Personal Data if required to do so by law, or in good faith belief that such disclosure is necessary to:
- Comply with a legal obligation, subpoena, court order, or government request
- Protect and defend the rights, property, or safety of Latentium Labs, our users, or the public
- Detect, prevent, or address fraud, security issues, or technical problems
- Enforce our Terms of Service
6.4 Business Transfers
If Latentium Labs is involved in a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, your Personal Data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email and/or a prominent notice in the App before your Personal Data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
6.5 No Sale of Personal Data
We do not sell, rent, or trade your Personal Data to third parties for monetary or other valuable consideration. This applies under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), GDPR, DPDPA, and all other applicable laws.
7. Data Storage and International Transfers
Your Personal Data is stored on servers operated by Supabase, Inc. These servers are located in the United States and/or the European Union. If you are accessing the Service from outside these regions, please be aware that your data will be transferred to, stored, and processed in these jurisdictions.
For transfers of Personal Data from the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we rely on:
- Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission
- Adequacy decisions where applicable
- Your explicit consent provided at account creation
For transfers involving Indian users, we comply with the cross-border data transfer provisions of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA), including any restrictions on transfers to jurisdictions notified by the Central Government.
8. Data Retention
We retain your Personal Data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. Specifically:

9. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you have the following rights regarding your Personal Data:
9.1 Rights Under GDPR (EEA, UK, Switzerland)
- Right of Access — Request a copy of the Personal Data we hold about you.
- Right to Rectification — Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Right to Erasure ("Right to Be Forgotten") — Request deletion of your Personal Data.
- Right to Restriction of Processing — Request that we limit how we use your data.
- Right to Data Portability — Receive your data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format.

9.2 Rights Under CCPA / CPRA (California, USA)
- Right to Know — Request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of Personal Data we have collected.
- Right to Delete — Request deletion of your Personal Data, subject to certain exceptions.
- Right to Opt Out of Sale — We do not sell your Personal Data, but you may still exercise this right.
- Right to Non-Discrimination — We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
- Right to Correct — Request correction of inaccurate Personal Data.
9.3 Rights Under India's DPDPA
- Right to Access — Obtain a summary of your Personal Data and processing activities.
- Right to Correction and Erasure — Request correction of inaccurate data or erasure of data no longer necessary.
- Right to Grievance Redressal — Contact our Grievance Officer (see Section 15) or escalate to the Data Protection Board of India.
- Right to Nominate — Nominate another individual to exercise your rights in case of death or incapacity.
9.4 How to Exercise Your Rights
You may exercise your rights by:
- Using the account deletion feature within the App (Settings > Delete Account)
- Emailing us at contact@latentium.com with the subject line "Privacy Rights Request"
- Contacting us through any method listed in Section 15
We will respond to verified requests within 30 days (or within the time period required by applicable law). We may ask you to verify your identity before processing your request.
10. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your Personal Data, including:
- Encryption in Transit — All data transmitted between the App and our servers uses TLS/SSL encryption (HTTPS).
- Encryption at Rest — Data stored in our database and storage systems is encrypted at rest.
- Authentication Security — Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms. We support secure authentication via PKCE (Proof Key for Code Exchange) flow.
- Access Controls — Access to Personal Data is restricted to authorized personnel on a need-to-know basis.
- Regular Security Reviews — We periodically review our security practices and update them as needed.
- Incident Response — We maintain an incident response plan and will notify affected users and relevant authorities of any data breach in accordance with applicable law.
While we strive to protect your Personal Data, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security but are committed to following industry best practices.
11. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
The VadhuMilan mobile application does not use cookies. Our website (vadhumilan.com) may use essential cookies strictly necessary for website functionality. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics cookies on either the App or Website.
12. Third-Party Links
The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not operated by us. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites or services. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of every site you visit.
13. Child Safety
VadhuMilan is committed to child safety and strictly prohibits:
- Use of the Service by anyone under 18 years of age
- Any form of Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE) material or behavior
- Grooming, solicitation, or any inappropriate contact with minors
We maintain in-app reporting mechanisms for users to report concerns about child safety or any violations of our Community Guidelines. Reports can also be made directly to contact@latentium.com. We cooperate fully with law enforcement in investigating any reports of child exploitation.
In compliance with Google Play's Child Safety Standards Policy, we have self-certified our adherence to child safety requirements and maintain publicly available standards prohibiting CSAE in our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make material changes, we will:
- Update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page
- Notify you via email or an in-app notification at least 15 days before the changes take effect
- Where required by law, obtain your consent before applying changes
Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the changes, you should stop using the Service and delete your account.

16. Jurisdiction-Specific Disclosures
16.1 For Users in the European Economic Area (EEA)
The data controller for your Personal Data is Latentium Labs. Our legal basis for processing is described in Section 4. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority if you believe your data protection rights have been violated.
16.2 For Users in California (USA)
In the preceding 12 months, we have collected the categories of Personal Data described in Section 3. We have not sold Personal Data to third parties, and we do not share Personal Data for cross-context behavioral advertising. For purposes of the CCPA, the "business purpose" for data collection is providing the matrimonial matchmaking service as described in Section 5.

16.3 For Users in India
We process your Personal Data in compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025. You have the right to contact our Grievance Officer at contact@latentium.com. If your grievance is not resolved to your satisfaction, you may escalate the matter to the Data Protection Board of India.
Consent Notice (per DPDPA Section 6): By creating an account on VadhuMilan, you consent to the collection and processing of your Personal Data, including Sensitive Personal Data (religion, caste, marital status), for the purposes of providing matrimonial matchmaking services as described in this Privacy Policy. You may withdraw your consent at any time by deleting your account or contacting us at contact@latentium.com. Withdrawal of consent will result in the deletion of your data and termination of the Service.

Data deletion: Users can request data deletion through the in-app account deletion feature or by emailing contact@latentium.com. All data is deleted within 30 days of the request, except where retention is required by law.
